brown and izzo's response to alford's flex
article
Quote:
FLEX APPEAL: Iowa coach Steve Alford was shown flexing his muscles in photos on Internet message boards after Tuesday's victory over MSU. The pose apparently was a response to guard Shannon Brown's flex after a dunk during MSU's victory over Iowa last month. Some Iowa papers also reported that Hawkeyes forward Doug Thomas did the flex after a slam. Brown said he hadn't seen Alford's pose, "but I have no feelings about it either way."
As for Izzo? "No comment," he said. "I'm saving it."

Alford mocks Shannon Brown
Did you see the photo from an Iowa paper that showed Hawkeyes Coach Steve Alford doing a two-arm flex during Iowa's victory over Michigan State?
It was in response to Shannon Brown's pose after a dunk during MSU's 30-point victory over the Hawkeyes earlier in the season.
Iowa's Doug Thomas also apparently mocked Brown after he made a breakaway dunk late in the game.
(I was on deadline writing and missed both the other night).
Under the circumstances, Michigan State's players really can't be bothered that the Hawkeyes rubbed it in their faces a little bit this time considering Brown's antics last time. Brown took his celebration a little too far last month, but that's the way it goes these days in sports.
But for Alford, 41, to respond? That's just silly. Leave that stuff to the players.
MSU Coach Tom Izzo was asked for his reaction and he said, smiling, "No comment."
