In my view Biden wouldn't be a bad candidate, but I share the previously raised concern that he couldn't get elected because of his long and very public record in the US Senate. McCain may suffer from the same problem.

It's a shame that many capable leaders in both parties may be hindered rather than helped by serving in the senate.

Ideally voters should take in to consideration the entirety of a candidate and not focus on a few votes. But in this era of negative politics that's unlikely.

It seems that the candidate that comes up with the best negative sound bite about his opponent has the advantage. Controversial votes in the senate serve as good ammo in that game.
ftr, I dint say Biden wuz a conservative, I simply pointed out that he would be a conservative dem and that he wuz more conservative the our current president.
