The fact of the matter is that the NBA draft is all about potential, so therefore if you can go first round then 9 times out of 10 you are better off leaving school with eligibility remaining. Just look at Davis, he probabley would have been a lottery pick after his freshman year or maybe even sophmore year. Now even though he did improve in some areas he solidified doubts that scouts had about other areas of his game, simply by showing the 2-3 additional years of play. In the NBA draft 1-2 years were you show flashes of brilliance combined with games were you struggle, is worth then 4 years of very solid consistent play.
