The iPhone is so interesting because there's been so much hype and speculation. Look at Trevor already saying what a mistake Verizon made - and the things haven't even shipped.

I'm not sure if the phone will kick butt or flop but here's what I'm sure of:

1) It'll sell in droves out of the gate. There's a lot of people who will buy something because it has an Apple logo, so that's a given.
2) If it ceases to sell well after that, they've built in a lot of room for price cuts - half of the price tag is profit.
3) They're clearly not aiming for the enterprise side, regardless of what a couple people have said. Lack of exchange sync precludes that. Lock the topic.
4) They could sell a ton on the personal phone side if the thing turns out to work well - but they've gotta make sure they don't cannibalize their own high-end iPod sales in the process - and I think price cutting would almost guarantee that.

It'll definitely be interesting.
