They were not in the Top 6. UM may have been 1-2 places ahead of
MSU in the BCS poll, but it was something like #10 to #12. Don't try to think that there was any reason other than the Michigan brand name that put them in the Orange Bowl that year.
You really need to give up this guise of a
MSU fan. No one is buying it. You may have been able to argue that you were just trying to be "objective" with some posts, but when the subject of busts come up, and you quickly throw out three
MSU players, there is no objectivity in that. If you would have put a UM bust or two on the list (i.e. Henson), then fine.
Your recruiting "predictions" are just to set up your arguments later. You predict that
MSU will get x, y, and z player, so that if they don't, you can crow about how
MSU screwed it up. You say that McGuffie signed, sealed, and delivered to USC, so that it can appear that UM pulled off this big recruiting coup when they get him. You're too transparent, and when you get wrapped up in arguments (like the last few pages), you really let your cover slip for anyone who may have doubted your schtick before.
