... I realize Van Dyke didn't pan out to be what he was hyped, but he was highly ranked coming out of HS and his finalists were MSU, Notre Dame and Purdue.

No MAC level team would've gotten him.

State has played like a MAC team the past three years, because the coaching staff was afraid to beat anybody. Don't confuse the past seven years with the past 20.
