The only reason that we ever tortured, starved, or cut off the heads of U.S. POWs and/or innocent Jews and/or U.S. sympathizers is due to the fact we know that the U.S. is a worse torturer than us. We only did it because the terrible, terrible U.S. does it.

Water Boarding is far, far more terrible than starvating, having your head cut off, solitary confinement for long periods in dark rooms, or multiple severe beatings.

So the U.S. shouldn't be any better than the evil regimes we fight against? If that's the case, we become no better than they are. And then we have already lost what we are fighting for.
