That's grade inflation, my friend. Jones is mediocre because he ranks in the middle of the pack in darn near every category compared to his peers when you measure performance and success.
Seriously, I argue this point only because some try to base it in fact, when no such basis exists. If Todd's your favorite player and you like the guy, great, go for it. But when you look at the facts, he's not "good" and he's not a Hall-of-Famer. He's mediocre and perhaps one of the best indicators of why saves are the most over-rated stat in the game, and why gaudy save totals will not get you near the Hall of Fame.........
