We stayed in touch until I retired 5 years ago, but I knew he was heading to WP as a permanent professor. There is no more career progression for guys who follow this path (they make full colonel, but are not in the competitive category for progression to flag ranks), and the only reason Ted found himself in Iraq is that he volunteered to go. The Ted I knew and loved as a brother in arms would not have put a pistol to his head. If it was, indeed, suicide, then Ted had changed dramatically from the man I knew all these years. Rest in peace brother. He was the best of the best.

Now, for some of you it doesn't matter. You were born rich and you're going to stay rich. But here's my advice to the rest of you: Take dead aim on the rich boys. Get them in the crosshairs and take them down. Just remember, they can buy anything but they can't buy backbone. Don't let them forget it. Thank you.
