I don't expect MSU to ever become a traditional championship contender, but considering our track record, could really make us more competitive than we've been on a regular basis in a long, long time. That's in my book, but some unrealistic Spartans may wonder why the trophies and BCS games aren't rolling in on a yearly basis.

If Kansas, Missouri, Arizona State and Cal can become national championship contenders there is absolutely no reason that
MSU can't. Keep in mind all 4 of those schools have arguably weaker programs than us over the past 50 years but controlled their national championship destiny at one point this year. I'm not saying that we will become the next USC but there's no reason that we can't compete for NC's over the next 10-20 years.
