Why is that so weak? First of all, he was already committed to FAU before
MSU ever offered, so keeping his word became a factor. Also, he is staying in state and playing for an up and coming program with a legendary coach (it's not like he chose Florida International, who had lost something like 23 straight games before winning their last game of the season).
For both his sake and
MSU's sake, I'd rather have him decide that he wants to stay close to home now than to pull a Tyrone McKenzie and waste his and
MSU's time (and Iowa State's time, for that matter). When you look at the percentage of our Florida players that dropped out/were kicked out/transfered out of the program over the last 7-8 years, maybe others should have made a similar decision.
