What I think: - All 4 of those folks work for Dharma, in some way, shape or form.
- The reason Daniel got upset was because he knew that Dharma was somehow involved in what happened with the plane crashing...or maybe he knew that the survivors were on the island and that some Dharma folks would have to go there--he being one of them??
- Charlotte working for Dharma was probably aware of their time-travel experiments and knew that the polar bear was from these experiments. I'm sure she went directly there because Dharma got tipped off to it being found and she had to go there and try to cover up their involvement somehow (like take the collar off of it).

A few points on these 4 new people, plus Naomi. When Naomi is talking to the black guy that went to see Hurley, he tells her there are no survivors, but she's worried about coming across them. When she lands, she says that there were no survivors. Yet, as Sayid pointed out (and I thought seemed strange on the finale last season), the rest of the people coming from the boat aren't the least bit surprised to find survivors. Maybe Naomi was lying, but why would she pretend to think there were no survivors, while the other guys don't pretend? Remember, she never told the guys on the boat that they were survivors (only what Jack said, which led to a very un-surprised response). So why do these 4 know about survivors?
And for that matter, why do you send a mild mannered physicist, an anthropologist, and a pilot to go on a potentially dangerous mission to kill/capture someone that they deem very important? Bottom line, there is a LOT more to those 4 than we've seen.
