When she lands, she says that there were no survivors. Yet, as Sayid pointed out (and I thought seemed strange on the finale last season), the rest of the people coming from the boat aren't the least bit surprised to find survivors. Maybe Naomi was lying, but why would she pretend to think there were no survivors, while the other guys don't pretend? Remember, she never told the guys on the boat that they were survivors (only what Jack said, which led to a very un-surprised response). So why do these 4 know about survivors?

And for that matter, why do you send a mild mannered physicist, an anthropologist, and a pilot to go on a potentially dangerous mission to kill/capture someone that they deem very important? Bottom line, there is a LOT more to those 4 than we've seen.

Naomi didn't exactly believe the black guy (can't remember his name) when he said there were no survivors, so she suspected there might be for some reason. Probably because she is more involved with Dharma? than the 4 new arrivals.

Remember the scene where the helicopter pilot knew that Juliet was not on the plane. He had memorized the plane's roster and knew she wasn't on it. For him to memorize it, that tells us he's expected to find survivors. If he thought everyone was dead, there would be no reason to memorize anything.
