Sounds like Northwestern tried to put the pressure on him to commit to them soon, saying they had offers out to 4 or 5 QBs. However, since it's Northwestern, they were probably just being honest with Maxwell, and they probably have all of those offers out because they're not confident they'll get any of them. I don't see Northwestern playing hardball in recruiting, especially since they had to know that Maxwell was a strong
MSU lean and probably knew that he was our top QB priority. They likely knew they weren't getting him and just told him the truth about what they're doing.
