In 2007 ESPN had it Pujols, Soriano, A-Rod, Reyes, Johan.
In 2007 Yahoo had it Pujols, Reyes, A-Rod, Soriano, Crawford.
In 2007 CBS had it Pujols, Soriano, A-Rod, Reyes, Johan.
I don't mind people taking A-Rod 1st in a keeper league. I am taking him first in my yearly league. I would think about him 1st in a keeper league but I would probably take Miguel Cabrera or David Wright instead.
But anyone saying that A-Rod was 'far and away' the best player prior to the 2007 season is full of crap

The only reason for people ranking ARod below those or any other players is because off an "off" year in 2006. People thought that he couldn't handle New York and were looking for someone new to proclaim as "the best".
