Ari, I was very impressed with Appling. He had about 3 fouls in 3 minutes in the 1st half of the semi's and it showed pershing struggled without him out there. He came back in the 2nd half and got after it and pershing climbed right back into the game. He's pretty good shooter for a sophomore, good handle, and very good athlete I would love for him to be in the green and white. I was completely unimpressed with Nix, but I will say this for him pershing plays full court press defense that does not suit him at all as you can imagine. The pershing coach would take him out so they could press better and every time Romulus would get every rebound when he wasn't out there. He probably only played 20 to 25 minutes of the game because they took him out to press, he wasn't in any foul trouble. He may be unimpressive, but pershing needed him out there for rebounding at the very least. Having one of your best players sitting on the bench for half the game because of the style you play is just bad coaching in my mind.
