Almost all freshman in high school are 14 or 15, so to have the parents hold him back would mean they held him back at least 2 years. Parents holding their kids back a year for advantage in sports is not uncommon, but 2 years? VERY uncommon. That being said, I agree with Jersey, who told you he was 17? Until somebody legitimate says it or someone has proof I am going to go ahead and be very skeptical of him being 17.
