I understand the recruiting rankings but 4 star recruits are anything but automatic studs. (see Miami,ND,Alabama, nebraska,Ucla)
Esspecially when you consider a lot of the headline recruits michigan has brought in recently have either left the program (for one reason or another) or busted out like Slocum, mallet, grady, bass, eugene germany,Arrington and various others.
I'd be shocked if Michigan won 6 games. If they win 7 plus I'll give D-Rod mad props. Just assuming the block M is going to march out and win 8 games just because of their name recognition is extremly naive

Not to hijack the Reid Fragel thread. . . .DickRod has never developed an NFL TE in his tenure at WVU. His track record with pro-OL isn't much better. If the choice is between
MSU and SCum,
MSU is definitely the better choice (Chris Baker, KFD, etc.)
As far as SCum Their D is going to be good. Donovan Warren started last year at CB. Crap at LB? They lost Crable and that Ezoh guy wasn't too bad as a Frosh. Their DL is going to be very good. As for their O? It's going to struggle at first, but they'll get the hang of it, they've got enough 4* RBs to the point that at least ONE of them has to work out.
Look, I hate them, but I'm not going to let my hatred of them blind me and say "Oh, they're going to be going through a crazy transition and they're going to fail next year. They have the talent to win 8 games. I have no idea if they actually will, I hope they don't win a game, but there's a lot of talent on that team.
