Lucious is more of a pure point-guard. Izzo has moved away from recruiting the 4-year players that he has to spend so much time coaching up to play a position.
These last two recruiting classes are perfect examples.
Lucas, Allen, Summers, Lucious, Roe, Draymond were all recruited to be immediate/semi-immediate impact players. Therefore, these players will have shorter learning curves than the four-year players we've been seeing at
MSU. With their more polished skill-set and strong work ethic (as per Izzo), they will pick things up much faster than previous freshmen classes. Don't be surprised to see them getting serious minutes during preseason.
Yes, they will need to adapt to
MSU's sytem, the speed of college basketball and playing shut-down defense, but I don't think any of these guys will have a tough time finding minutes among those players who stood-around and sometimes played as if they feared their competition or the situation.
