That was my point (a reasonable one, I think) and I'm sorry if I didn't say it well.
So, if you'd be so patient, fill me (and some other people) in. How might this play out?
What happens if Donovan Kirk calls Izzo tomorrow and accepts? Does he pullback on all offers except one (Wilson?). If he doesn't, what happens if DaShonte Riley accepts too the next day? Does he then tell Riley he has to wait and see? Or does he forget Wilson and conclude his class?
It seems possible that Izzo wants one more reliable recruit locked-up for the third scholarship (Kirk, Riley, Still, etc.) and could use Wilson's fourth as a bonus. If you're fourth recruit is going to be Jamil Wilson, then using all four makes sense.

First, there's no chance that he'll "forget Wilson and conclude his class." Jamil's a special player and we might even be considered the prohibitive favorite right now. No way will he use all the scholarships elsewhere.
Now that said, we will have four scholarships available, but when you look at who they've been recruting, Kirk, Still, and Riley are all bigs and we've already got two committed. Conventional wisdom is that we won't take another big in this class so as to not alienate bigs from the class of 2010 (Horford and whoever else). On that same note, we're not really recruiting any other perimeter players beyond Wilson (the kids from Georgia haven't heard from the staff and there's no one instate that they've ever considered). When you add it all up, it looks like we'll stick with Big D & the Shermanator, and work like hell to get Wilson. Taking only three in 2009 gives us at least 3, if not 4 scholarships in 2010 (depending on who's left of Lucas/Allen/Summers) which would allow us to take three guards (McCallum/Appling/Zeigler

) and a big (Horford or someone else).
