This almost happened in Mich. Class C in 98 (I think that was the year). Travis Kelly of New Haven won the 100, 200 and 400 and placed runner up in the long jump for a total of 38 pts. If his long jump had been an inch longer (again, going off of memory) his team would have tied for the state title.
