20 seconds between him and Alan Webb, the largest
margin in FootLocker Xc history."
FYI - Alan Webb was the first HS in 20 or 30 years to run a sub 4 minute mile. Ran for U of M.
As a senior in high school he set the Michigan & National high school 5k record of 14:10 at state finals, second place was 15:05.
- watched him run that race...amazing. He just floated over the ground. He beat some kid from Novi that ended up running for MSU...can't remember his name (Tim Moore?) but in any other year he could've won the state title.

You can watch Dathan and Rochester's Brian Sell (winner of this year's 25K RBR) at the Olympics this year; 2 of the 3 US Olympic Marathoners. May not be the year for US, Sell is probably past his prime and Ritzenhiem has not quite hit his prime yet.
As for this incredible female in Texas, TX is one of the few states this is possible due to number of schools it is difficult to qualify for the state meet so it lessens the point totals making it possible for 1 amazing athlete to score enough to win or actually compete.
At least in basketball when you have 1 amazing player he gets to take his teammates with him to the State Finals. You think the 12th boy off the bench on Magic's HS team earned his ring any more than a girl on the 400 realy team at this chick's HS.
