In some of the rural areas northern whites get treated pretty bad.

im a northern white guy, just moved to charlotte, nc area from the D... and since september have been dating a black coworker... there only have been a couple occasions when we notice any wierd stares or comments... these mostly come from older white folks...we find it funny...in my mind racism is pure ignorance, but in many others, these stereotypes are reality... it just depends on teh person i spose.... for the most part charlotte is pretty progressive, young and at least seemingly open to interracial dating... ive seen quite a bit of it... whether its in public, in schools, etc... i think we were the only mixed couple at her church when we went for easter....but didnt notice any wierd comments or stares... it was a large baptist church, with only a few white people in attendece, but it was cool...her family is cool with it.. as is mine...i know the old people still hang on to stereotypes that existed in thier days and have transcended the years...whatcha gonna do...
