Two of my best friends (first generation Macedonian- and Pakistani-American, respectively) dated white boys for a long time and hid it from their very traditional parents. One eventually ended it because she couldn't stand hiding it from her parents. She's now married to a Macedonian.
The other is engaged to her white guy. Her parents have disowned her. His parents love her. Obviously I don't know how indicative our experiences are of the world at large, but it's interesting to get your perspective on interracial dating beyond black/white couples. |
