You honestly think it's just going to remain like that once we're gone? These countries need to find democracy themselves, not have it forced on them. The instant something goes wrong, tensions will rise again, it will collapse, there will be a power vacuum, and one large group will take hold and reign supreme after another bloody war. It's almost inevitable.
They'll be back to square one, only with hundreds of thousands of deaths and a lot less money and resources to try again.
