Ooh, good call on that.
It's definitely a more artsy area, like he said, the Frauenthal theater, a lot of historical stuff like Hackley Park, the Hackley Museum, the Hackley Library (notice a theme?)... there are a couple of classy restaurants, you'll be next to the arena for Muskegon Fury hockey and Muskegon Thunder (they can't kick field goals because they hit the big scoreboard above the arena

) football. Summer Cel brings a lot of WT but has its moments -- BB King a couple of years ago, Steve Miller, etc.
Other than that, the whole area is still a lot of nothing ever since they tore down the ****ty old mall. The only thing I remember about that place was that they used to have one of those ugly teal-dye fountains like we have outside of the
MSU Library
It would be unfair to call it ghetto, but it's definitely an area in a "rebuilding" phase. There's a lot of potential there but who knows when they'll actually make any real progress on it.
On the plus side, those Amazon Apts are REALLY nice and the whole historical building feel is pretty cool.
