I'm gonna say actually that CB is the most common position for a true Frosh to start. After that there are a few mammoth DTs who start as true frosh, but its a severe drop off.
Basically only an elite player can start as a true frosh, and there has to be a severe lack of depth/this kid is super legit for someone to start from day 1.
For instance, Johny Adams could crack the starting lineup, Tyler Hoover also has a shot. Fred Smith could be a dark horse. No one else in the '08 class will start, and most will redshirt.

but you're right we've had such a wealth of talent at cb over the years.
Chris L Rucker and Adams are a nice start but if it's one thing msu desperately needs its corner backs that can actually make a play on the ball well it's in the air.

I agree, Jones was an abnormality. He played great.
So, Chris L and Adams are going to be there and are highly touted. I just didn't agree with the assessment that a freshman was going to come in and immediately start at CB. That said, I am hoping our program gets to the point where a freshman never has to start except in the case of an injury.
