I also had the sony cybershot for a few years and just upgraded to the D40 and it is an amazing difference; its well worth the money. I am not that into photography, but since the kids are getting older and starting to play ball, we wanted to get a better camera. My wife and I are both really happy with it. Soon after we got it, I took it to a Lugnuts game and I was amazed at how good the pictures turned out. It would catch action shots perfectly. I am at work right now, so I dont have the pics with me, but I will post some of them when i get home.
SaltednutsNE1 let me borrow his 18-200mm VR lense for that Lugnuts game, and that is currently what I am saving for...im sure there are many other improvements that can be made too, but for my ability level and purpose, I think that lense will be about all I will ever need.

A lot of guys have problems concentrating in school. It's not because we have ADHD, it's because we're in a room with a lot of partially exposed 20 year old boobs. A lot of my lectures have 100s of girls in them. You know how many boobs that is? I do, but I don't have a clue how to tell if a geometric series converges.
