You are doomed to be voting for smoke and mirrors the rest of your life if your vision is that myopic. NO CANDIDATE can lower the price of gas by drilling. The folk who control the drilling also control the refineries and the are FOR PROFIT corporations.

If you believe we need to keep taxes at current levels, eliminate the estate tax (which affects less than 2% of Americans), further reduce corporate taxes, give more incentives to healthy corporations which are partially responsible for the high cost of fuel and pay for all that with reductions in federal spending like student loans and other "entitlement" programs then vote McCain.

But don't think either candidate has a sure fire short term solution for the price of gas.
