Cal has trouble adjusting to their new D verse a live opponent and MSU's run game wears em down early and keeps em on the field. Defensively, MSU's speed rush rattles Cal's patchwork, and inexperienced line, as well as the young Riley early, and Cal makes the switch to Longshore in the 2nd half, but they don't have enough possessions to come back.

Ringer rushes for 120 with a TD, the rest of the backs chip in 40-60 yards.
Hoyer is efficient, but not spectacular. Throws for 235 yards, and eats up clock. One INT and a TD. Defense scores another TD off the inexperienced Riley, and the kicking game contributes 6 points.

The D posts 3 - 5 sacks, gets 3 turnovers and holds the Cal Offense to a to a measly 250 total yards.

You had me until this......no way we hold them to 250 total.
