Are you reading my posts at all? Of course, Izzo wanted Wilson. There is no denying that. But, Wilson was the only SF/SG left on the board, and the only guy being recruited for that position in the 09 class. Howell, Glenn Bryant, and Noel Johnson were all names we had heard for this spot, but they were never seriously pushed for. Hence, you have to assume Izzo was thinking that you take Wilson for 09 if you can get him, and if not, you wait for the 2010 class to fill the spot.

Think about it this way: Who has graduated in the last two years, next year, and who has been recruited.

Grads: PG/SG Neitzel, PF/C Naymick, PG/SG Walton, PF/C Suton, C Ibok, PF Gray.

Recruits: PG/SG Luscious, PF Roe, PF Green, PF/C Sherman, C Nix (and SG/SF Thornton as pref. walk-on RS)

Not one SG/SF was lost to grad in the last two years, and we brought in a RS Frosh SF/SG in Thornton. Those guys who are graduating next year will be SF/PF Raymar, and SF Dahlman. We have Appling PG/SG to replace Walton, and a SG/SF in Byrd to replace Dahlman. Now, we need a SF/PF to replace Raymar for '10. Wilson would have been that guy, but come on board a year early. Again, Wilson was not a "need", he was a luxury. The guy we take to replace Raymar will be a "need", though he may not be as talented as Wilson is.
