Not sure I can agree with you about being stacked at DE. He can play DE, OLB or TE but he probably projects best to defense. While the numbers suggest
MSU has great depth, we need talent. Outside of Gholston we don't have too much right now. Hoover has played well, but not great, he could still be a good player. Williams likely won't get much PT as of now. Strayhorn has one more year left I believe. Freeman, Drone and Calero are question marks but could be good players. Rush seems to be a good prospect that may be able to get some early PT.
My point is that, IMO, a huge reason
MSU hasn't been real good in pass defense is because there is no pressure on the QB's. They have all day to throw and no DB can cover a WR for that long. Regardless of numbers and the talent that
MSU may or could have with incoming players or players that are currently on the team, I think we all would agree that another very good pass rusher would be a welcomed addition. Cadogen could also play LB or TE, but he has great speed and seems to be a good pass rusher. There is a reason why the staff has made him a priority.
