So how do you explain the congressional races?
I know people who were warning about a big loss in VA months ago based on the way the Deeds campaign was run. He still might have lost based in that since 1977 data cited maybe not by 18 points but still lost. Corzine was much further behind than 4 points not that long ago so I don't think his loss was a mandate either.
In my side of MI the GOP candidate wins no matter what. I suspect the same for Democrats in many IL districts. As far as 2010 goes, its a lot easier to fire up a base after one year off. If I'm going to plan on being a governor, I don't live in a state with odd year elections.
