ESPN - Big Ten Blog: Illinois' Zook considering changes, including QB

At 1-3 and very much under fire, Illinois can't dismiss any suggestions that could turn things around. That includes making a change at quarterback.

Head coach Ron Zook said Sunday that replacing quarterback Juice Williams is among the potential changes he will consider in the coming days. Williams has thrown four interceptions and one touchdown on the season and averages just 129.8 pass yards a game.

"Obviously, there’s an awful lot of conversation and talk about that," Zook said Sunday on a conference call with reporters. “That’s something we’re going to talk about. ... Right now, I’m considering changing everybody."

It's a very tough call with Williams, who boasts more experience than any other Big Ten quarterback but hasn't translated it into consistent play. Though Williams has struggled, I think many of the problems at Illinois relate to the scheme and the team's inability to use its weapons at wide receiver. Backup Eddie McGee has a lot of experience, but Williams has always been Zook's guy.

"He’s a great kid," Zook said. "He’s got the weight of the world on his back now again. He understands it. I talked to him [Sunday]. He’s not backing down."

Expect Zook to stick with No. 7 this week against Michigan State.
