It's Chris Norman, the '09 linebacker from Detroit (Up on Rivals now).

Don't know much about him but any kid that commits this early must want to be a SPARTAN and that's all that matters to me. Good Job!

look for to go after a prime time quarterback HARD. with Foles not redshirting, getting, we probably are gonna look to get the guy to replace Foles (assuming he progresses as well as everyone thinks he will and become the starter) in this class.

i dont expect to land larry caper, and frankly i dont think RB is an issue...ingram or not we have a VERY good lineup of backs for the future
Yeh well looks like somebody couldn't have been more wrong, how about we start off with a stud LB!! Welcome Chris Norman!!!!

Some on this site are eating crow!

Was it not just yesterday afternoon that some were complaining on this board about Tressel, LB recruiting, and Dantonio bringing his boys in from UC who couldn't recruit (I believe this was in regards to Tressel specifically.) Well, since that conversation, we have landed Gardiner, who stated that his relationship with Tressel is a main reason he chose MSU, and now Norman, a stud LB.

Complaining...you'd be more fair to say questioning. I and perhaps others were looking for reasons for a series of whiffs in LB recruiting in the 2008 class. I was looking over the position coaches tonight. They have some impressive credentials, Tressel having the least.

Maybe Tressel is a great coach. Maybe recruits are attracted to him. But, it was worth examining and questioning. I can't imagine he has the wow factor that guys like Barnett and Staten and Roushar and certainly Gill have. Dave Warner, I didn't know he has such impressive credentials. So now, everything looks great, right?

Right now, we're on the upside. The time could come when we plateau, like a couple of 8 win seasons but an inability to handle Michigan's talent in the new spread. That might be a real booger! Something like that. Right now, everybody is happy. If we plateau, look for everyone to be looking for answers about how next to get over the hump. Try to differentiate between complaining and analyzing. If you haven't done so, check out our position coaches on the MSU website, they're pretty impressive.

I think we should get atleast one of Caper, Baker, Jackson, or Jones at rb for 09. With Maxwell supposedly a silent verbal, two huge tackle prospects already interested, and a couple good WR prospects on the board this class could shape up nicely. This will probally end up as the second highest rated class to come out of michigan in recent memory, only behind 2007 (but could end up on that level). Hopefully Ohios 09 class is on par with what it has been over the past few years, and can clean house.

last i heard he said msu and ill are his top two and ill is recruiting him the hardest...so how is msu leading?

I'm assuming this is one of them:
