And how awesome would it be to bring in that many Michigan kids? Man.
I think if you put Hill on that list, you have to have Buckner. They're they're both teammates, committed to Illinois, and play positions of need for MSU. I think if we get only one of them, it'll probably be Buckner (he's going to visit anyways, Hill isn't so sure), although I doubt we get one and not the other.

Not really sure that is all that realistic but I guess somewhat fits. Mine would be this:

QB: Andrew Maxwell (MI)
RB: Edwin Baker (MI)
RB: Larry Caper (MI)
WR: Donald Spencer (MI)
WR: Patrick White (OH)
TE: Mitch Kessel (MI)
OL: Micjah Reynolds (MI)
OL: Nate Klatt (OH)
OL: Sean Cascarano (IL)

DL: Blake Treadwell (MI)
DL: Adam Bellamy (OH)
DL: Kerry Hyder (TX)
LB: Chris Norman (MI)
LB: Jeremy Gainer (MI)
CB: DJ Hunter (OH)
S: ?? Best guess: Shamari Benton (MI)

I think that the four positions that will see the most fluxuations with names are TE, OL, DB and DL.

DL would clear up a lot if we got a commit during the summer. If someone really liked us and thought about waiting, I think they would jump rather than taking their time. Much like Trawick and Darks last year. I like Farrington but I think he could be a backup plan as he has some serious grade issues and don't see our coaches waiting until December and gamble like that.

DB is probably the most difficult as we don't really know where we are going. Hunter could be a difficult pull and although fans are in love with Benton, it is possible he doesn't get an offer.

OL is much like DL as if a guy like Reynolds (If offered) and Klatt knows he won't get offered by OSU (I believe that their camp is before ours) pressure will be on a guy like Cascarano if he likes it up here. I also think this is the spot you will see us go out of state the most. Not a real outstanding group and we are being very selective with our offers.

TE is going to be interesting as our #1 target may not play the sport. The out of state guys are intriguing but if we don't go out of state some have made mention we would go to FL or GA. Not sure Hazelett is an ideal fit at TE.

keep an eye on chris williams 4 star db out of Ohio. He visited msu early in the spring and really liked the atmosphere and barnett. MSu's been waiting on his ACT scores and if he scores a 17 or higher there's a good chance he'll get offered.

Cameron gordon's still very much in play as well, He'll commit sooner or later.

I think in the end Dion winds up at msu to play two sports.

I also believe in the end msu winds up taking more then 16. Right now msu has 17 to give, (providing no juco qb) and there's always a good chance there will be a little more attrition come fall.

JB, I definitely know of Williams. He is one to watch out for and very well could get offered and replace Hunter. However not sure why the wait. He should have gotten his results by now.

Cam Gordon is definitely in play but it is a numbers game at this point. Not sure he can wait to commit later. But we will see.

We probably will take more than 16 but that is the allocation I am using as a conservative model.

When I say "realistic", I mean we have a shot at all those individuals...but there is no way that we get all of them.

Does White have an offer? Dantonio has went after lankier guys if theyre good enough (ala Dell and Martin), but he's seemed to stick to big bodies like Smith and Cunningham for the most part. As for Reynolds, I'd like to get another Lansing kid...kinda fun to have around. I'll have to try to catch a game of his this year. How about Cascarano and Hyder? You think we have a legit shot with them?

Thanks....

I agree with you then.

White just recently got offered he could be a WR/CB though. Maybe a Gamble type and play both sides of the ball. He is very good at going up and getting the ball at the highest point.

I think Reynolds is the best O-Lineman in the state. Him and Matthias I think are battling for that position. Evident by both having Big 10 offers.

With both Cascarano and Hyder I think it could be when guys commit. My hypothetical situation, lets say Hyder, is we are taking 3 DL supposedly. OSU's camp is before ours, so lets say Bellamy doesn't get an offer and he camps up here and commits. Now lets say Hyder gets offered and then realizes we have one more spot available. Would kind of be a take it or leave it.

With Cascarano it would be harder because I don't see us getting 2 OL commits that soon but we were the first to offer and I could see if Reynolds got an offer he could commit on the spot. Then we have two slots left and if he doesn't blow up completely I can see him jumping on the offer.

not neccesarilly I remember it taking 6-8 weeks for me to get my results. I believe he took it a little over a month ago. He was also recently offered by minny and indiana

I see what you're saying on the last point.

Yeah I am hoping that Williams scores well and we pursue him hard. Think we would be the odds on favorite to land him (If we offer soon) and that would be good as he is a damn good player as you know.

MSU is making a strong push for 3 big time prospects, one out of illinois named darius moffet. Moffets a very solid linebacker prospect with over half a dozen bcs offers.

We've also apparently made a strong impression on two players from Miami Gulliver Prep where Sedric Irvin happens to be the running backs coach. Frankie Telfort (top 100 linebacker) and his team-mate frank crawford who's a great looking DB prospect.

both are being heavilly pursued, but states in telforts preliminary top 5 and both are going to try and make it up here during the summer.

I know some of the little people on here will automatically write us of as soon as they see telforts offer list but from what I've heard he's not neccesarilly the kind of kid who wont leave the south or has to play in a certain conference. He's just looking for the best fit and early playing time.

Neither UF or USC have really prioritized him either.

Dont discount sedric irvin either, he's a loyal spartan and a big fan of the current regime. He'll talk MSU up as much as possible. I wouldn't be surprised if he's an honorary captain for a big game next year either

I'm pretty sure I saw Tate Forcier at DTW earlier today. I thought UM was done recruiting him.

Irvin is a great Spartan - could have been even better if he would have returned for his final year. I always enjoyed watching him and good to see he is still tring to help the Green and White. I would love to see him as an honorary captain.

The issue with Telfort is that he wants to wait until Signing day. Not sure what we are recruiting him as he seems to small to play linebacker, so I would presume safety.

We will see what happens and maybe we fill up and keep a slot open for him.

MSU likes him as an OLB and that's his perfered position. He measured in at 6' 205lbs at a recent combine. So he's a little on the small side but not to bad for a will line-backer with blazing speed.

I think it would be a situation like Nick Perry. Keep a slot open because I can bet that we will fill up on LBs before his decision date as we are only taking 1 or 2 at the most.
