That's not to say that JUCOs can't have an impact. They surely can. Not all of them are sure-fire players though.

But I can't believe that you guys forgot DeAndra Cobb.

Yeah, we need to settle down a bit with the predictions. The Buckner/Hill thing looks good, but I say no way on God's green earth do we get Sims. That bus turned down a different road long ago if you ask me.

I am wondering what is the delay with France....do we have him on hold for someone else, or is he just taking a long time to decide and thus the Conway offer.

Pretty sure we're talking JUCO WRs here. MSU's going to be lucky to have 18 scholarships to give out and you want to waste it on another WR? That makes you JLS. There are other, greater needs. For starters, D-Line, O-Line and even DB. 2, possibly 3 are committed already. MSU brought in 3 on scholarship, plus anotehr preferred walk-on WR last year. Only JLS would think it's appropriate to bring in another.

He was a JUCO RB from the 2001 class. Played that year on special teams and not much else. Couldn't pass up Dawan Moss on the depth chartt.

It's getting seriously out of hand. Someone just said Hill/Buckner thing is lookig good. I'd love to see a quote anywhere in which Hill mentions the remote possibility of looking around, specifically at MSU in the past few months.

When I say something looks good it is because of what I hear, not what I read on rivals or scout. I've backed it a few times. I guess I should clarify and say Buckner looks good.

Depends on your definition of "few." This is most definitely after he committed to Illinois:

Scout.com: Chicago O-Line Giant High on MSU

There just haven't been any updates since, so you can't really say one way or the other.

You know, I thought that DE was one of our thinest positions. But it almost seems like we are looking at more DT's than DE's. Is the staff confident in Ishmyl and Jude to fill in? Perhaps we feel we have a few guys who can slide over from DT or bigger LB's? I guess it could just be as simple as the staff thinks they have the people in place. But I thought we would have 3 prospects at DE rather than OL at this point.

Well, they see the guys on a daily basis and we can obviously trust MD with the defensive side of the ball so the guys we have must be looking good.

I agree 100%. However, high school recruits are not sure-fire players either. With JUCO players we get the opportunity to see them match up against better competition than high school players. We also get to see how they handle college academics and grades. I'm not saying that we should load the class with JUCOs, I'm merely saying that Howard is a good looking prospect that we should take. Taking 1 JUCO out of 18 recruits isn't a bad thing. One player can make a huge impact on a season...see DT.

Anyone that watches Howard's video and doesn't think we should get the kid in a green and white uni is out of their mind. Plain and simple. I just don't get how anyone could watch that video and not come away ridiculously impressed.

What is everyone thinking that France does for our recruitment at the DT position?
I was surprised that we are taking him at DT and not in previously mentioned positions of DE and OT...

But great get!

A bird in hand is worth two in the bush.

With France's commitment our average "Rivals Ranking" for this year is just over 5.7

Last year we only had one recruit over 5.7
