don't know, but they are hard to beat on Ohio kids. I honestly don't see us getting him.

There's absolutely no chance in hell that we get a Glenville kid whose first offer was from Ohio State.

Yeah, it takes a coach like Ron Zook to pull that off.

Illinois already got the #1 OL out of Chicao Leon Hill.

If there was ever a time for us to steal a recruit from Ohio State, it would be right now, we've already (presumably) got the two best running backs in-state, lets see if we can start to beef up the O-line for them.

I think he was making a Valenti like reference to the way Zook recruits, allegedly with bags of money.

Yeah, that would be pretty tough. From the sounds of the Scout article he likes Ohio State and Michigan.

True but until he commits anything is possible. 6'5, 290 is solid and the fact that we have verbals from 2 solid RBs we need to get some top notch OL recruits to open those holes. So why not start with him? Yeah he's in tOSU's backyard but like I said earlier anything is possible. With and company getting 5 strong recruits, I don't underestimate their ability to pull a few more even if they are not from Michigan.

Yeah i know our chances aren't great with this one, but what a huge piece to the recruiting class he would be. Lets see what Caper and Baker can do to convince him to be their body guard for the next 3-4 years.

The square is seldom if ever cool ... He is "not with it", that is, he doesn't know "whats happening." But if he manages to figure it out, he moves up a notch to "hip." And if he can bring himself to approve of what's happening, he becomes "groovy." And after that, with much luck and perseverence, he can rise to the rank of "cool."

That's an appropriate standard. Because MD doesn't want him (or anyone else for that matter) unless he does feel like he's at home.

Who was that, Cordale Scott who got a last minute offer from OSU (please note the initial statement)?
Little different when the kid is not waiting around for months feeling shunned.
Anyway, this will not be decided until January of 2009 if it's like any other Glenville kid. Coach Ginn likes his kids to stay uncommitted so tons of coaches show up, and maybe he is able to talk them into offering another one of his players. He also does that whole bus tour thing and wants his top players again to stay uncommitted for the same reason.
BTW (not aimed at quoted poster)...I doubt the kid is thinking "gee, MSU has a couple nice running backs. Certainly much better than what is at OSU. Sure, they have year after year of top classes, tons of talent at running back, and just signed some kid who was the #1 overall recruit and a QB. Naw, I'll go with those two RB's at MSU." Sometimes the Kool Aid gets a little too thick. Time to thin it out a little.

But he may realize that OSU just signed the greatest group of OL ever recruited in a single class just a year ahead of him. His recent statements about valuing immediate playing time would speak to this. If he goes to OSU, he's riding pine until his senior year, whereas he could start from day 1 at MSU.
