put the pipe down, who ever gets this kid is going to be dissapointed later.
waaaaaaayyyyy over-rated.
Dell was freakin randy moss in high school going up and bringing balls down in triple coverage.
jackson's production isn't nearly as impressive as those other guys despite his speed advantage.
He's not a football player, he's a track star in disguise

And Devin Thomas isn't the best WR from MSU since CR why? He only played one year, but talent-wise, he's far and away our top WR since CR. Even if DT wasn't in consideration, I don't think at this point, Jackson would be MSU's best WR since CR, he certainly has the potential to be that type of player, but until he can learn to take a hit and still keep going, he'll won't come close to that legacy. That being said, I'm not sure if I don't think I'd take him over BJ Cunningham, Keshawn Martin, Fred Smith, and Mark Dell, all are more "sure things" for the college game than Jackson.

With Spencer locked up, we can be pretty selective with our offers, and if Cam Gordon committs anytime soon, we are done at WR.

I have heard NOTHING on Jackson in quite awhile. His offer list is incredible. Especially given most feel he is just a speed demon without the best skills...well, Bama, Florida, OSU, Oregon certainly dont agree.

Does anyone know why he just recently rejoined the Grandledge Track Team, I assume it was because football was keeping him busy

No suprise. I was hoping Gordon would commit first though to us, so we would be able to say we didn't have room anyway.

Good luck to him in Columbus! He picked the next best school to MSU in the B10.

Glad to see he's not going to UM - although I don't know what kind of an impact he's going to have. he could be dangerous though.

McNeal looks like a lock, and Jones might be a slot and they have offered others at both the slot and outside WR position.
The reason I think this is a loss is more psychological than anything else- I'm pretty sure RR won't have any problems recruiting fast skill position guys, but Jackson was an in-state kid so to lose him to OSU just sucls.

Darn it ... I knew it was a long shot, but it stinks that my high school keeps producing great athletes that don't go to MSU.
Al Horford goes to Florida, Jackson to OSU, they've sent others to Michigan, Northwestern, and Oklahoma State.
I guess there's always Brian Westrick.
Anyways, good luck to him, at least he is still in the big ten, but not in Ann Arbor. Everyone knows he is fast, but he couldn't have picked a tougher environment to answer the questions on his toughness and ability to take a hit ... OSU and the big ten.

Are you really surprised?
Why would a top flight WR want to go the UofM a play for a guy that is notorious for not passing the ball.

This kid was a proto-type DickRod WR and that is why this is a HUGE loss for him. I can't believe how poorly he is recruiting the state he is coming into. Sure, he has gotten some great talent so far, but nearly all out of state with the exception of the big boy and he didn't even bring him in, the former staff did.
DickRod is going to learn real quick that you need to control your state for recruiting or it'll catch up to you. You also need to establish good relationships in-state and he has not done this.
This was major because of the athlete, who that athlete decided to commit to instead, and because of the reflection it has on his recruiting trail thus far.

I agree it is a loss from a perception standpoint, but as far as his position goes UM is doing just fine in getting slot guys. Just fine.

I agree...been there, done that.
I can't help but feel like UM is going through what we went through for several years only they'll do it with a little better coach and better talent. I hope it works out better for them than it did us or they'll be starting over again. Actually....no I don't hope it works out for them.

You're forgetting one other difference- RR isn't running the bandit defense and appears to have a competent DC.
