Well, if Fragel is seriously considering playing OT at Michigan because they "produce great linemen" I'd have someone sit down with him and ask him how many linemen has West Virginia sent to the NFL. That it's Michigan is irrelevant. These are entirely different coaches.

Don't you kind of wonder how often coaches will tell a recruit this? It seems obvious to us, and I hope it is for too.
The kid wants to play TE, let him play it. If it doesn't work out, and I'm sure the kid will realize it, if it doesn't, then move him to OT.

Well the one thing that we're offering is options. We've told him that he could play TE, OT, or DE. Other schools are only giving him one possibility.

Most kids coming into a college weight room, who aren't lineman, gain weight or at least stay the same. Now if Fragel is 6'8 270 and can run a 4.7 then you probably keep him at tight end. Its just with the more and more weight you put on the harder it is to keep that speed up, so if can still run that great put him at tight end. Its just I'm not sure he can run a legitimate 4.7 now, from all reports I've seen its more 4.8 or 4.85.

Jealousy has nothing to do with it. Just trying to have an open discussion, not like any of us have any influence on his decision anyway.

I was just joshing you a bit, though I doubt he goes to UofM.
I'll be interested to see what kind of talent SCum brings in now, since the coach is not a known commodity in the state and midwest in general. You guys should win 8 games min. next year though

I would say more players outside for UM for the next year or two, as he gets to know the coaches, etc...
I think if anything he is showing he can recruit at the level UM fans were hoping for so far...

how do you figure considering no qb, no Oline wr's and rb's that dont fit the system, garbage at linebacker, new starters at safety and very little depth at corner.
I understand the recruiting rankings but 4 star recruits are anything but automatic studs. (see Miami,ND,Alabama, nebraska,Ucla)
Esspecially when you consider a lot of the headline recruits michigan has brought in recently have either left the program (for one reason or another) or busted out like Slocum, mallet, grady, bass, eugene germany,Arrington and various others.
I'd be shocked if Michigan won 6 games. If they win 7 plus I'll give D-Rod mad props. Just assuming the block M is going to march out and win 8 games just because of their name recognition is extremly naive

Not to hijack the Reid Fragel thread. . . .DickRod has never developed an NFL TE in his tenure at WVU. His track record with pro-OL isn't much better. If the choice is between MSU and SCum, MSU is definitely the better choice (Chris Baker, KFD, etc.)
As far as SCum Their D is going to be good. Donovan Warren started last year at CB. Crap at LB? They lost Crable and that Ezoh guy wasn't too bad as a Frosh. Their DL is going to be very good. As for their O? It's going to struggle at first, but they'll get the hang of it, they've got enough 4* RBs to the point that at least ONE of them has to work out.
Look, I hate them, but I'm not going to let my hatred of them blind me and say "Oh, they're going to be going through a crazy transition and they're going to fail next year. They have the talent to win 8 games. I have no idea if they actually will, I hope they don't win a game, but there's a lot of talent on that team.

Very true and I didn't intend to say he was committing, although I think there is a good possibility it happens before or during the summer. However I think him getting an offer is good news and I think him committing would be great news.
Just didn't want to divulge it all I guess and still haven't since you read the same thread and know what else was in there.

I think Michigans Defensive line could be their only saving grace, and keep them in some games, taylor, grahm, and jamison are obviously their best players but I dont see much depth behind them.
If grahm goes down I dont think they have a pass rush. Their linebackers are shyt. Crable was a freak and had the ability to clean up a lot of other peoples mistakes. Warren and trent are both solid corners but dont over look 2 new starting safeties one mistake back there equals a TD every time.
Outside of the handful of players I just mentioned I dont see a lot of proven talent. I see a middle of the pack big ten team talent wise, with a brand new coach that's installing an entirely different offense and defense with players that weren't recruited to fit his style of play. They have very little experience and it's blatantly obvious that program is already starting to erode from the inside out.
I'll bet anybody here they dont win more then 6 games

My friend, I certainly hope you're right. I've been hoping SCum would slip and it'd seem that they're due for their slump, like Nebraska, Miami, Oklahoma, Florida State, ND, USC, UCLA, Tennessee, Alabama, ummmmm pretty much every other "upper tier" program not named SCum
And if they do lose 6 games or more, say hello to 9 of the top 10 in MI going to STATE! Fragel would be a huge addition and I hope he commits soon, having 7 commits before May is freaking astounding for a program that a year ago got 0 national respect

I don't see what was wrong with the statement. It didn't dilvuge anything in the thread and is just a teaser.
Certainly if I ran over here and posted the entire text from the thread it would be different, but just giving people a heads up that something good is about to happen doesn't classify as that I don't think. If so I will certainly stop doing it.
