Picks up an offer from Kansas State. Was on campus this weekend but couldn't participate (in drills) due to injury.

Also has an offer from Colorado. Sounds like he's blowing up right now. Looks like we're only going to take two LBs this year (Dan Fox would've been nice) but I'm not sure there's anyone on the radar the staff should hold out for instead of offering Gainer ASAP....

I get the impression Gainer would be more than willing to hold out until the July camp when the staff can see him in person. If he doesn't get an offer then he'll probalby do all the visits and stuff.

Note to Jeremy: don't go to a college that doesn't even know where your high school is.

how recently was that? THe 4.8 was from the sparq testing. Not saying he isn't a player but I would caution over that speed. If the 10.9 is legit then I think he is plenty fast lol.

From recent quotes in Rivals article, here is a tidbit.

Quote:
"Coach Enos was at the track meet," Watkins said. "Jeremy was running four events. He won the 100 in a 10.9 and had some good competition in Austin White and a couple of other guys. He ran a couple of relays and then on the 200 he felt some tightness but I think he still tried to push himself because he knew Coach Enos was there, and he pulled up out the first curve and pulled his hamstring.

Sorry to be the content police, but is that a free article? If not, you can paraphrase, but not directly quote it.

That is correct. But the same does not apply if there is a direct quote from a recruit, as you can't really put a price on a quote.

If we didn't sign 200 LB's last class he probably would have gotten an offer.

Oh well, I hope he does well at Indiana

weird how things work...if he had not gotten hurt in track this spring and could workout at our camp, he may have gotten an offer.

As it is, we have other proven prospects at this point.

I was hoping to land him and Watkins because I think both will blow up this season. I think it would have been a bigger loss if he was a ILB, but he is still a good prospect and I hate to see kids leave the state. That being said, when a player who has not played to his full potential commits to IU this early in the process there recruitment is all but over.

Guess I'm a prophet. Hopefully he'll still camp in July and get an offer. After all, we're witnessing the DickRodification of tB10.

I think one was from Penn State and the other was from Purdue, but I knew what you meant.

If MSU was that concerned, they would have offered.

If it required both of Gainer and Watkins as a deal, they may have made the decision it was not worth it.

IMHO, we dont know what we dont know.

We really only need a MIKE for this class. must have not been sure Gainer could handle that position, not a really big deal. Good luck at iu
