Dunbar WR lands his first offer $
Happy about offer....because they play against Illinois and a lot of Dunbar players play there...but he does say he wants to be a vet.

And if he can bring himself to approve of what's happening, he becomes "groovy." And after that, with much luck and perseverence, he can rise to the rank of "cool."

Although I do have to agree with you in this a little bit. I was wondering if it might mean that he was looking at one of the service academies first and foremost.

Damn, is Dantonio some kind of prophet? I mean seriously, who the hell else would bring up "If you want to be a vet, you should come to Michigan State" when talking about FOOTBALL players, then encounter a WR to recruit four classes later that wants to be a vet?

7. Deon Long, WR, Dunbar High (Baltimore), 6-0/180/4.50: Long has the quintessential receiver's mentality. "(The camp) is going good for me because nobody can check me," he confidently uttered during one of the breaks. "People were saying I couldn't get off of the jam, and I'm proving that I can against the best." Long showed deceptive speed, good hands and a desire to be physical. Michigan State was the first to offer him and is firmly entrenched in his top five.

Rivals - "Three on top for WR Long" - $
West Virginia, Michigan State, and Duke....although he says that he'd like to play with WVU QB commit Tajh Boyd. Wants to make a decision between May and July.

I am a bit surprised he didnt even make a trip to MSU based on his desire to be a vet. I believe I read in a story that he wasnt hearing as much from us as the other schools. Not sure if he was a plan A. (NOT trying to discount the kid, he seems very good and anyone offered this early is very good). Hope to see our 2nd WR commit over the next 4-6 weeks.
