Any guesses on who the other three we are "EXTREMELY close" on? Maxwell probably.

Obviously Dantonio and his staff were already evaluating the '09 class along with the '08 class. This gave them the head start on recruiting for '09. Their first commitment from the '08 class (Charles Burrell) didn't come until April and then the next two (Tyler Hoover and Ethan Ruhland) not until June. In '09 he has three of the top recruits in-state before March 1st ! Word is he might get three more commitments at or shortly after the next JR. Day, March 16th. That would double the commitments going back to June of last year !
To quote Jim Tressel, "Mark Dantonio is the best evaluator of defensive talent I've ever worked with".

Seriously, how does Hondo hold onto a job in journalism?

In fairness, Clarrett was probably faster before his year off from football. I thought he was somewhere around 4.5 at OSU.

Guessing who's next
I'm just guessing with no "insider" information but from what I've been reading, I think its among Andrew Maxwell QB (Midland, MI), Cameron Gordon WR (Melvindale, MI), Shamari Benton S (Bloomfield, MI), Reid Fragel TE (Gross Pointe, MI), Larry Caper RB (Battle Creek, MI).

Fragel doesn't have an offer yet.

neither does benton. however when both get offers I think they will both be spartans. Fragel loves everything about michigan state and benton wants to play with his friends like Norman, Ray, and Baker. Also in the past we have owned Brother Rice in recruiting (other then Darius Sawtell spelling)

First it is Hondo so take it with a grain of salt.
However the three that I would guess with would be 3 of these 4. Gordon, Caper, Maxwell and Benton.
Benton is not going to get offered by Ohio State and I think when he gets an offer he commits on the spot.
Maxwell for obvious reasons.
Some say Gordon is a supposed big MSU lean.
Caper is expected to be a Spartan sooner rather than later.

I'd love to land Benton and Fragel ASAP. Benton's numbers look great and we really need some TE's. I can't imagine Fragel would scare off Sims.
