Chris Rucker might have something to say about that.

Exactly...Think about this for a moment. In a few years we could have a very formidable defensive backfield.
Rucker is 6'2"
Adams is 5'11"
Mcdougald is 6'1"
Assuming Mcdougald is the nickel back, that would be some VERY good height for our corners.
Throw in Burrell who is 6'0' and Trawick who is 6'2" and that will be the end of the days where we see big receivers outleaping or DBs on fade routes in the end zone ala Braylon Edwards over Jaren Hayes.

Burrell is close to 6'3, he sprouted up during his season.

Honestly, the one thing I've desperately wanted for years is lockdown corners. McDougald could totally be one of the corners we rely on to shut down opposing WRs in the BT. In addition, they will get the best preparation for our games by practicing against some of the best WRs in the BT. Having lockdown corners like McDougald will allow the terrific DLine and LB talent coming in to run rampant on opposing offenses and blitz much more.

Got OSU offer yesterday.
he is excited, but says he does not discount those that offered earlier. Says his favorites are Wisky and MSU (beyond OSU I am sure). Wisky is talking about WR...OSU and MSU staying at Safety/Corner. Great relationship with MSU coaches.
Come on...pull this one in!!

I'd rather have a 5'9 burner (4.3-4.4) with a 42"+ vertical.

Charles Burrell
It was mentioned by Burrell's high school coach that he has grown a few inches and now stands 6'3".

Rucker is getting a look on the offensive side of the ball.
I know, both Chris Ruckers on the same side of the ball crazy.

MD has been quoted many times as saying he likes to recruit kids who can play DB or WR so he can evaluate and place accordingly.
Hence, why Rucker is getting a shot on O

Mine were all 5'9-5'10. That was my point. You can be a good corner and short. I wasn't really naming a dream set of DBs.

But my point is that there aren't that many of those. I'll take a better corner who is smaller before a bigger one who doesn't have the hips. It doesn't matter how big you are if you aren't in position. Now, if two CB's are equal in areas other than height, obviously you take the taller one.
I guess my point is - yes the Braylon jump ball game sucked. But you only face 1-2 WRs a year that have the body control to do that against a CB who is in position. Compare that to a CB who isn't fast enough, or weak in some other area - every team has at least on WR who is a burner. I don't want to give away winning 90% of the time, just so I can have a better shot in that 10%(and vs. somebody like Braylon, it might not have even mattered).

Well, lets be fair to short corners (and don't get me wrong, I would prefer at least 5'10 and above CB). If a CB is short, and has skills, he has some natural advantages that tall CBs don't.
The Edwards jump ball thing (which still haunts me) was caused by two things....Jaren Hayes, a good RB converted to CB by JLS playing an NFL all-pro....and, absolutely horrendous defensive play calling by Smeland/Smith. Everyone in the building knew that play was repeatedly coming, and they still left poor Hayes out there on an island. FOR GOD SAKE'S, PUT TRANNON OUT THERE TO PLAY JUMP BALL DEFENSE!!
Sorry, flashback.
