Watching his highlights, it's obvious he's more of a possession WR who makes the tough catch in traffic. Don't expect much YAC out of him.

I see Rivals has his interest in MSU listed as "High", anyone have an update on his academic standing?

Bump, a 5 star recruit that has MSU as his ONLY "high interest."

Never hurts to add a 5*, but we're probably full at WR. Also, JUCO rankings are much less accurate than regular rankings. Take Woodny Turenne (#1 JUCO recruit in 2007). He's got great measurables, but he couldn't cover Terry Love on a punt return, the JUCO ranks usually don't expose that.

I highly doubt Dantonio would EVER pass on a 5*...

Stars, while nice don't compare to coaching evaluations (just look through the previous rankings of 5* guys, see how many names you hear called on the first day of the draft). If Howard really is a can't miss prospect, the staff will find room for him, but I'm not sure I would count on that, considering there might just not be a scholarship for him.
Also, here's a link to his Scout Profile for his little bio.

Offers from:
MSU
Arizona
Florida State
Illinois
Louisville
Memphis
Purdue
Looks bigger in his videos than they have him listed at.

Before I get burnt, I didn't mean to put any emphasis on the stars. The thread hadn't been updated in a while so I thought I should post some of the info. I was more interested in the other schools that have offered him. It looks like a good list with some solid coaches.

Scout came out with their JUCO rankings and have him as a 5*. Rivals on the other hand has yet to release their JUCO rankings, so he's unranked by that service.

Howard is scheduled to graduate in December from JUCO if he keeps up on his academics. He has used his RS year. He will be a Soph @ whatever school he eventually chooses and be able to play in Spring Practice and have 3 years of eligibility left. Howard was recruited by Coach D when he was @ Cincinnati but Howard ended up as a non-qualifier. Coach D helped him find a JUCO to attend. He wants to play for Coach D because of that relationship but his opportunity @ MSU will depend on his academic standing and if there will be any scholarships open going into signing day. His best position is WR and he doesn't really project to Safety.

Wow, this kid has superstar talent. I said talent instead of just proclaiming him a star because in order to be a star, you have to have your life together and be able to get the grades to play. So that will be determined.
This kid just wows on tape. Unbelievable height, hands, leaping ability, elusiveness, etc. Looks like he might need to add a little toughness. IF this kid is working hard in the class and ONLY if he's doing that...then I'd LOVE to have him as a Spartan.
But, we have things going way too well right now and I don't want a problem or an academic issue. So hopefully he's on the right track and we have room, because he has the talent to be a star.

Definitely a major wild card. Much easier to pickup if we had the normal 20-24 schollies to give....at 16-18...harder

Not to change the conversation, but in that highlight tape his quarterback looked like he had a hell of an arm. He was tossing it 50+ yards with a couple guys hanging off of him.

Probably shouldn't make this comparison but I will. With his athleticism, size and ball skills he reminds me of Devin Thomas. Not as fast as Devin but Howard does run a legit 4.5 forty. No matter what college he ends up at (his offer list is impressive) barring injury, he will be a WR in the NFL someday.

He's also 2 inches taller than DT.
