LMAO!
Yep, it's a shame how MSU absolutely *ruins* players.
What a joke.

ignore them, they still think all MSU players fall b/c they commit to us.
Anyway, this should mean that they will update the 250 this week and than start the position rankings (3 and 2 stars). We will start to have a clearer picture of where everyone stand - IN RIVALS EYES

The square is seldom if ever cool ... He is "not with it", that is, he doesn't know "whats happening." But if he manages to figure it out, he moves up a notch to "hip." And if he can bring himself to approve of what's happening, he becomes "groovy." And after that, with much luck and perseverence, he can rise to the rank of "cool."

Top 250 is supposed to be updated tomorrow.
IMO these rankings still don't mean that much- the post summer camp ones are the rankings that really mean a lot.

I don't like the Caper drop but the Sims drop is Huge! Was he at any camps or release new video? MSU rivals day?
Awesome jump for Norman. Probably based some on his great 7 on 7 performance.

Your last sentence is probably why he dropped- he hasn't attended any camps or given any interviews. Out of sight, out of mind.

caper and sims will be in the top250 which is the one i look at anyways. sure its nice if they are in the top 100 but what does that do for you? if they are in the top 250 they have a pretty good chance to come in and play right away which is all i care about

FYI: These players ability to come in and play is completely unaffected by the arbitrary ranking some guy assigns them unless that guy is an MSU football coach.
The worship given these kinds of assessments by some people is absurd.
"Yeah! Player X jumped up 50 spots on Joe Blow's player scale!"

Yeah, it's nice if our recruits are given respect in the media. Other than that,

Couldn't agree more. If Coach D thinks they'll be good football players for us.....then it really doesn't matter what other " talent evaluators" say.
On the first day of practice all these ***** ratings go out the window. The only thing that matters is "can the guy PLAY."

Rivals needs Caper's updated film. Once that happens, everything will work itself out.

And Spencer and Treadwell were bumped into the top 250. Seems more than fair to me.

See, the thing is, it shouldn't be about rewarding schools or being "fair" because of schools. If Caper is a top 100 recruit (Which I believe he is), keep him there, if Spencer and Treadwell are top 250 recruits, then put them there, but don't drop some recruits then try to be fair and move others up, or move some other recruits up, but to prevent one school from looking too good, drop another recruit.

My point is that is it possible that the Rivals guys just weren't that impressed with Caper? That there isn't a grand conspiracy? If there was a bias against MSU verbals, why the rises for other MSU commits?

I think you're right. Baker's "Drop" to 58 doesn't mean jack, i think he's still somewhere between #5 and #7 overall. Caper will go wherever his film takes him. . .. which doesn't and SHOULDN'T mean jack to us, because he's the same player regardless of what some recruitnik thinks of him.
Stars only matter in national perception and with getting other recruits. We still have 2 top 100 players and now 5 in the top 250 . . . . I'm pretty happy with that. This is our best recruiting class in years already.

I will preface this response with: I don't really care about rankings. They are nice for hype, but I think these guys are some of the absolute best players in the country, regardless what their ranking says.
But what I don't understand is that Caper dropped dramatically, but didn't his film stay the same? Wasn't it the same film that got him up to 60 something? I guess I don't understand how at one moment they can be impressed with Caper's film and the next they think that he just isn't impressive.

I can't say for sure, but I think that Capers older ranking was based on combine performances last year and not film.

this is the greatest and dumbest statement of all time.
How on earth do you think he is a top 100 recruit? because he is a spartan.
Can you honestly say you have watched 500 recruits on film and seen 300 of them in person? NO YOU HAVEN'T.
So how on earth can you make a statement like that
