Hes seen the film from the qbs throwing, as have I. Maxwell clearly is a much better dropback and throw passer. In a prostyle setting Maxwell is clearly a better qb. But that's the thing, theyre two different qbs. Beaver is an option run and throw qb, where Maxwell fits the dropback passer style. Also Beaver is very skinny and watching his TCU camp film does not have good arm strength at all. Michigan got a qb who fits their system and hed be bad in a prostyle, MSU got a qb whos good in the pro style and would be bad in the spread.

That being said I've always liked pro style qbs better, and therefore I think Maxwell is a better qb, even if the commitments switched schools that they were committed to. It wouldn't surprise me to see Maxwell pass Beaver in the rankings either.

I have seen his film and read multiple opinions from those much more qualified than me to assess. IMHO.

It would be sweet to me if we could just eliminate them from the discussion entirely.
90% of your posts are defending all things Michigan so what would you post about? You can defend all things Michigan and take little jabs at everything MSU while calling yourself Wolverine2117. You should come clean and admit what you are, it would be more dignified.

More paranoia. I have admitted SEVERAL times on this board that I didnt attend either school. I grew up cheering for MSU and still do, but I dont despise all things UM with every ounce of my being like a lot of you do. I think its possible to be a Spartan fan and not despise UM. Now..I dont really LIKE them, but I dont have a problem with them either. I just sometimes find it ridiculous how much time is spent talking about "scUM" on this board. If you want to call me "Wolverine2117" so be it, I suppose next time I see someone saying some BS I'll just look the other way because I guess people here would rather just believe what they want anyway.

I can actually see part of where you are coming from. I grew up a MSU fan and by default disliked them, but there were schools I hated far more (ND,Illinois, Wisconsin). However, once I went out of state and started attending MSU they jumped to number one, mainly because you have to defend everything about your school in relation to U of M. So I can see why you dont have the over the top hate many of us do.

I would like to see some back up on this. Everything on scout and rivals so far has been praising the kid. They said he needs work, but that he has the arm strength and tons of athletic ability. THey said once he relaxed he looked as good as anyone at the Elite 11 test camp what ever the heck it was.

They said Maxwell kicked butt, I do concur with that.

He's full of ****. There is an article on the The Wolverine right now talking about how good a prospect Beaver is and how even after the Elite 11 he still thinks that he has a ton of potential, etc.

Wow. An article on The Wolverine says that? You don't say.

I'm sure he'll be fine. This is mainly just a bit of justification for Spartan fans who know that Maxwell is a bit underrated. Beaver probably won't make the actual Elite 11 camp though.

Well, the quotes are from the Rivals national guy...

And I agree that Maxwell is underrated; I don't see why that means some MSU fans need to say that Beaver is horrible.

Hey wolverine2117 you are a liar. Anyone can search your posts. You only post about MSU if its bad, like the wonderlic scores or a recruit you dont think MSU can get. Not one post on a MSU commit thread. All your other college sports posts are defending Michigan and pimp'n Michigan recruits. You have one basketball post and its about GVSU and Klenn Morris. Most obvious is your constant talk of MSU obsession and Tressel is dirty posts. Its right out of the UM poster handbook. Again show some dignity and admit what you are.

I haven't been part of this conversation. But, I would like to comment.

1) No, you can't be a Spartan fan and not hate U of M. Impossible.

2) Beaver is probably talented and has potential, however those more informed than us here saw Beaver and Maxwell in person and Maxwell was the one that was selected as most impressive. That is rivals, not joe nobody from a mb.

I thought the exact same thing. When is a recruiting site going to talk bad about a recruit? Never.

I could care less about Beaver, they can only play one QB at once. Or maybe he will move to WR or something. You know that crazy cooky DickRod..

an article on the Wolverine that is positive on a new recruit?

Shavodrick Beaver (DQB) Wichita Falls (Texas) Rider

Assets: Has good frame to work with; he is built like a shooting guard at 6 feet 3, 177 pounds. He also has very quick feet.
Needs improvement: Needs to get stronger and add some muscle mass.
What was most impressive: He seemed to throw better on the move.
Conclusion: This camp did not really allow him to show off his overall athleticism. I still think this is a kid that will make something happen when a play breaks down.

No comments in the quick summary last Friday.

These comments in the video:
very athetic, fairly accurate, weaker arm, not showing his true strength in this 'pro-style' contest.

From ESPN:
"Initially Beaver looked unsure of himself and a bit shy as the Elite 11 kicked off, but as he moved into the second day and stayed for the NFTC event, Beaver began to just play and not think. His arm became more live, and you could see his confidence rise. He is still a project in the passing game, but he is one heck of an athlete and a dual-threat guy who will only improve as a passer."

However, Maxwell was the standout at the NFTC event also.

Have you seen any updates on all the 2009 basketball prospects (not named Derrick Nix) from the great state of Michigan over the last several months?

Alright Northcoast. If you say so. I have a feeling you arent even old enough to know any better. Maybe by the time you are my age you wont "hate" a rival as much as you do. Am I the most die hard Spartan ever? Maybe not. But I have always rooted for the Green and White back in the days of Denny Stolz, Darryl Rogers and Duffy Daugherty. I guess I'm not die hard enough if I dont "hate scUM" like some of you tough guys. I still hate Ohio State more than Michigan because I really think Tressell is a sleaze and I hate the state of Ohio. That includes every team from there. But believe what you what son.

Really? Honestly? All these years I thought I was a Spartan fan. I guess not. Why is it impossible for me to tune in on Saturdays in the fall and watch the Spartans and not be holding a maize and blue voodoo doll? I didnt go to either school so I dont see why I have to like one and hate the other. I like the Spartans and am fairly indifferent about UM.

You are not indifferent towards UM. 90% of your posts are defending Michigan, pimp'n their players and recruits, or talking about their "consistent greatness since forever". Someone who was indifferent would not post on Michigan so much. You know what you are.

You arent as smart as you think you are. I've made my position on MSU and UM pretty clear, I guess you dont get it. Thats alright though, my father always told me it was impossible to make everyone happy, so just make sure to bother with the ones you care about. You..dont care. But thanks for your concern, have a good day.
