MSU has the 2nd best class in the B11 right now, with SCum being 3rd and tOSU so far out in front it would take an SMU death penalty-like sanction to catch up to them.

I'll be honest, if we get the 2 kids from IL to flip to us then we should have a top 3 class. That would make 7 4* (8 if maxwell gets the bump we're all expecting), not to mention the chance at that OL from Iowa. It would be our best class in years, depending on what does to fill out the rest of the class.
I don't see us getting that OL from Iowa. He seems like he is an outside chance at best. Too many Iowa ties and too many teams on him early. I would rather look towards some great Ohio players, since it seems like OSU is about out of scholarships to give.

Now, the Illinois kids, I think we have a better chance. The DT Buckner, especially, seems to like us. But both him and Hill (the OT) seem very easily flippable.

Don't forget Gordon, there is another 4* that we have a good shot at.

Ultimately I think this is going to be the best recruiting class that I have ever seem, perhaps the vets on the board have seen better. I said in the middle of 08 that 09 would be Dantonio's marquee class. It's surely shaping up to be that way.

2004 was a #15 class on paper. 2000 (7 Top150 kids, #1 player in the nation) was a Top 10 class. Those are some lofty expectations.

To be fair, 2004 was the #15 class on paper because we had 30 players on there (you know how rivals works). In reality, 16 of those players saw their way to a full career.

I don't think this has a chance to be the 2000 class. . .but it should be our best since then.

Well, the 2004 class was also #16 in average stars. FWIW. That kind of goes beyond the Rivals "points". It just goes to show that a good season can get some serious momentum.

As of right now it's 21, but OSU always has transfers and guys that leave early. Last years class was only supposed to be 16, and ended up at 20 (3 transfers and Gholsten leaving early).

So 25 may end up being the right number (14 commits so far).

That suprised me. Let's hope we get 8 wins and another top 20 class

Rogers. Smoker was a top 5 qb, but not number 1.

Well, looks like it's 22 (although I think there is some question as to whether Bauserman is on scholarship or not so it may be 21). Here is the breakdown from the guys at BuckeyPlanet. They do a great job with recruiting, and much of this board took cues from them.

Scholarship Breakdown by Class and Position
