Big Ten Recruiting so far
I know it's early and that star rankings don't mean anything, but it's great to see us doing this well in recruiting. Our recruiting class is probably the 2nd, and definitely no worse than the 3rd, most impressive in the conference thus far. Like I said there's a long way to go, so take it for what it's worth, but great to see Dantonio doing so well.
As an aside, I'd be pretty happy if the conference power rankings wound up like this a few years from now.
(From Rivals)
1. OSU (1 5*, 9 4*, 2 NR)
2. MSU (5 4*, 1 NR)
3. UM (1 5*, 2 4*, 3 NR)
4. Wisconsin (2 4*, 1 NR)
5. Illinois (2 4*)
6. Minn (4 NR)
7. Penn St (1 NR)
8. Northwestern (1 NR)
9. Indiana (no commits)
10. Iowa (no commits)
11. Purdue (no commits)

You sir, are completely right. I've heard that if you put a bit of peanut butter on your body, DickRod will lick it off...and i mean anywhere.

I wonder how many scUM fans read this board. It's gotta be just absurd. These guys are so obsessed with MSU it's disturbing. The one sport they have could come to an end. Imagine all those bandwagon fans jumping off the wagon to ND, OSU, or MSU.

Yes, you are completely right. I don't know why people here have that amazing start Dick Rod is doing down there in AA. We should be paying more attention to that.
Let's not focus on, perhaps, our best start to a class ever. Let's not focus on our LB who is becoming one of the most offered kids in our history. Let's not focus on TWO RB's who have been ranked in the top 100 at different times this year. Let's not focus on our QB recruit who just came out of the Elite 11 combine as the best one there, and most likely a shoe-in for the Elite 11 camp. Don't focus on the quickly rising WR we have, and an OT/DT who everyone thought we just took because he was the coaches son and who ended up being one of the best players in the state.
Yes, right now we really are focusing on the wrong thing. We should be thinking about how U of M's recruiting class, who most of the players we are not after, is so great. That's what why we, as MSU fans, should reevaluate what we are thinking about.

You do realize they're our rival, right?

It's one game a year. Every year it seems like we're below .500% in the Big Ten.
And it really hasn't been a rivalry lately. Let's get better to the point that we win consistently against the rest of the Big 10, and then it can become a true rivalry again.

and OSU is still out recruiting him, and have another top 50 guy pretty much locked up (Hall from Glenville).
RR will soon know the meaning of little brother.
BTW...Carr never knew what it was like to be out recruited by OSU (except 2002). RR is going on 2 years in a row.

OSU is just off to a sickening start...
MSU off to the best start I can remember...
UM should get McNeal this week and that would be the 4th top 100 guy which would be a great start as well.
So I have them in that order at the moment.

Recruiting has changed a lot in the past few years. We weren't sitting in April talking about 5 or 6 4 star recruits five years ago.

football is catching up with basketball recruiting. kids are committing to schools in both sports earlier and earlier. but lets not forget that these kids have only given a verbal and not signed a LOI. Tiller will tell you that there is plenty of snake oil for kids to switch schools before and on signing day

Not so much an issue for MSU under Dantonio

Really!? It doesn't seem that surprising to me...They are the only major school in a FB talent rich state...They have been to three BCS champ games since 2001, winning one of them. They constantly turn out NFL stars. Their facilities are great. The coaching staff is great. They have the tradition. They have a rabid fanbase. They should be cleaning up.

OSU is adding more out of state recruits this year. Curious if it is a change of strategy after being smeared the last two years by SEC teams in the NC game.
Regardless, it leaves more good OH prospects without OSU offers.

Any truth that UM is about to get Forcier or that Beaver guy? I thought Newsome just committed and now it looks like the other ones are racing to be the second guy.

That is the rumor (Berry is a 4* and top 50). Add Linsley, a 4* OG to it too.

There is a lot of smoke that one of them will drop this week.
