Michigan DE hearing from Spartans $

5/8/2008

Athletic DE Looking Instate $

Basically hes favoring MSU right now. Will camp at MSU, Michigan, Purdue, and CMU.

I played football with this guy when I was a senior and he was a freshman. Good kid and played well for a freshman. He got moved up to varsity by the end of the year if I remember. Anyways my friend talked to him recently and he said how he thinks MSU is going to offer him soon. (Although I think they wait til camp). Sounds good to me. I think he could play TE as well.

BTW his last name is pronounced VOO-SHY. In case anyone was wondering. If anyone has any other questions I might be able to answer them.

I only remember him from his freshman year so its too hard to tell. I watched one game last year his junior year, but I didnt really focus on him too much, although I think I remember him making some big plays defensively. Id need to see his film to see how he looks. He needs to bulk up for DE but I think he would be a guy that tries and takes coaching well.

So I'm friends with Ed on facebook as he went to my high school and we both played football. Anyways he's been telling people that he's going to MSU to play football and someone asked if he had a scholarship locked down yet, and he said yea msu. I don't know if hes committed or expects an offer in the future or what. I also know michigan coaches really liked him, but that he has grade issues. Just thought I would share the info.

Think that info is wrong. Edison seems like a player that would get an offer if we are taking 25 but we are only taking 16-17.

Earliest he would get an offer would be the fall.

this guy and kenny watkins (db from brother rice) are the two prospects I could really see blowing up this fall.

watkins missed his entire junior year due to mono but has tested very well so far.

same goes for vushaj.

Yea Kenny Watkins looked really good at the Nike camp in OH...he is a true corner too...no tweener thing going on with him...I have a gut feeling that when it is all said and done he will be a better D1 football player than his teammate Benton.

This is my 1st post, hopefully it is insightful.

I live in the same subdivision as Vushaj's head coach, and I am good friends with his son. Also, I went to middle school with Vushaj, and have watched him 1st hand for two years now against my high school.

I was talking to him, and according to him, Vushaj wants to go to State, and will commit if offered. He also said though Vushaj isn't the smartest of kids, but that shouldn't stop him. According to him, Vushaj will qualify, Ed has been at his coach's house almost every day, being tutored. So, it sounds like grades will not be the issue.

On a playing ability note, Ed is a big dude, and he is very intense. He started the past two years for the Warriors at the Mike position. However, this past year he was used more and more at DE, and he looked like a natural rushing the passer. From my experience watching high school football at Walled Lake Central, only three players have really stood out to me, Ryan Tisdall, Kevin Long, and Ed Vushaj. The 1st two now play at Grand Valley and Eastern Michigan respectively. Ed is by far the best out of those 3, and he definetly has the potential to play at Michigan State. I believe Vushaj will blow up his senior year, and will make it to Michigan State. As it is all he ever talks about.

Great post! I always love hearing that kids want to play for I hope he earns that offer.

Intesity + desire to play at MSU, that's a good combo. Hope he stays focused, keeps his grades up, and gets the opportunity.

Thats basically what I figured. I know Eds a real good kid and has been working on improving his grades. Hes telling everyone hes going to MSU so I figured he must mean if he gets his offer, which Im also guessing the coaches told him if he gets his grades up to par that he has one.

On a side note your friend of the head coach must be Brent then right?

I will eat my crow on this. Looks like I was way off if you go by the Rivals database.

I thought he was similar to Benton. Dorsey said he was probably down on the list but I guess the coaches saw something.

Maybe could be a TE.

So he does have an offer then? And if so how come his commitment isn't public, because like I said before he's been telling everyone he's going to MSU. Is this a similar situation to Winston from last year with grades?

SpartanMag didn't break the news.

MichiganPreps a rivals site broke the news. You can just look at their message board and they gave it away in the title. "MSU offers Vushaj"

Also I highly doubt this is a situation with grades. And the news just went public of him having an offer as far as Rivals or Scout goes so we will see.

If the posters above are accurate, which I think they are, we will probably see something in the next 2-3 days.

But that is a guess.

Allen Trieu of scout confirms he got an offer yesterday. 6-5/230 and runs a 4.6, I like this kid and I bet he will be a spartan soon. Looks like a three star to me, for those of you who actually care about those things.

6/29 Scout.com: Vushaj Picks Up First Offer

Article about the offer he received. He got it after going to 7 on 7 passing league at MSU. The offer is for TE though, not DE.

Im kinda surprised he didn't commit on the spot as he's been telling everyone that he's going to MSU. I think maybe the offer for TE caught him off guard as he thought he would be a DE. But expect a commitment from him within the next couple weeks I'm guessing.
